Is this the best holiday park in Australia? 3

Truth be told I’m not the biggest fan of Holiday Parks….

The crowds of people, waiting for showers, small camping sites, early wake up calls from kids that aren’t my own….

The list goes on and on… give me a bush camp or even better a camp in a National Park and I am one happy lady!

But here is the thing, when your boss gives you a gift card for Big4 Holiday Parks you gratefully accept and start planning on where you are going to go.

So after a quick google search I decided on the Big4 Sunshine Resort at South West Rocks. and in the words of my son it was “The best holiday park I have ever been to!”

Basically the reason for this grand statement was because of all the amazing activities for kids to enjoy. Seriously this is a great park for families!

So what made it awesome for the kids?…

  1. Put Put golf!
  2. Jumping pillow (what kid doesn’t love a jumping pillow?) and playground
  3. Half court tennis court.
  4. Games room
  5. Movie room
  6. Peddle cart hire
  7. Bike hire
  8. Canoe hire
  9. Free Kids club all year on Mondays and Fridays!
  10. Plenty of space to kick a ball, scooter and bike ride

Now all these things alone would make it an awesome Holiday Park to take the kids… but the major draw card at the Big4 Sunshine Park is the MOST AMAZING WATER PARK!!!

It didn’t matter that there was a beautiful beach across the road ( I did “make ” them walk across to see it, to which they said ” Yep this is nice.. can we go back now!) the kids were more than happy to spend their days in the water, and I was more then happy to chill out on a lounge chair reading my book! The water slides, heated pool, water bucket, climbing ropes, caves and spa entertained the kids for hours and hours…. in fact one night my daughter stayed in there with some “friends” till they got “kicked out!”. The water park is so popular that they offer day visits / birthday parties for people who just want to visit for the day!

I mean I loved the park for all the reasons the kids did, but there was plenty of other reasons to love it to!

Here’s my list!

  1. It still had a “bush’ feel as it was surrounded by National Park
  2. The wildlife… being visited by a Kangaroo and its Joey was pretty special!
  3. The facilities were clean
  4. Great camp kitchens
  5. Big enough camp spots
  6. The fact that they have un powered tent spots! (Not enough places offer this in my opinion!)
  7. It had a cafe on site
  8. That the majority of the attractions were FREE
  9. The staff were friendly and helpful
  10. They have many different types of accommodations to suit all budgets!

That IS a beautiful place and how wonderful that you got to enjoy it with a voucher. Our son recently took his 4 of varying ages to a caravan complex in the south coast and they all loved it so much he has re-booked for next January.

Love to see you back linking up too!

Next week’s optional prompt for #lifethisweek is 11/51 It’s MY Favourite. Denyse.
