2019 – A photo review! 6

Ok, so I know that we are already half way through January but lets cast our mind back to last year and check out what Travels and Adventures we got up to here at Travels With Mum.

January 2019 – Tokyo / Hakuba, Japan

In January we took an amazing trip to Japan to Ski at Hakuba and checked out the sites in Tokyo including an amazing day at DisneySea. We had an awesome time! Check out my blog post on our time at TeamLab Borderless in Tokyo.

February 2019 – Shoal Bay, NSW, Australia

I think we found one of the best Holiday Parks in NSW when we went to visit the Big 4 Sunshine Resort South West Rocks in February! The kids (and therefore me!) loved hanging out at the pool, playing tennis and Put Put golf. Find out more about our visit by clicking here!

March 2019 – Caves Beach, NSW, Australia

March brought some weekends hanging out around our home town, finding new places to explore and returning to some of our favourites like here at Caves Beach. A gorgeous beach lined with beach caves it is an awesome place to explore and hang out together.

April 2019 – Kosciusko National Park, NSW, Australia

We headed to the mountains in April to climb the highest peak in Australia. We free camped, hiked and explored the gorgeous Kosciusko National Park and when we finally reached the top of the Mountain … we couldn’t see a thing, it was a white out! No worries we did return (only to be evacuated because of a fire threat… but that’s another story!) Our free camping this trip lead to our Free Camp Directory being born… check it out here!

May 2019 – The Watagans, NSW, Australia

May brought Mothers Day and a wonderful day up at the Watagans National Park. Its a beautiful place to camp and day trip and we are very lucky to have it on our doorstep and I was very grateful to have all my children around me.

June 2019 – Newnes, Lithgow, NSW, Australia

June was cold but we didn’t care so we headed off to Newnes in Lithgow. We free camped and explored the glow worms caves that are near by, it was so lush and had so much to explore. I think we will return one day that’s for sure. To find out more about this free camp click the link here.

July 2019 – Frazer Beach, NSW, Australia.

We have been wanting to camp at Frazer Beach forever, it is right on the beach and therefore always booked out. We were so lucky to grab a spot in the Winter school holidays ( I’m guessing it was too cold for everyone!) and even better no one else was there! Great spot on the Central Coast of Australia.

August 2019 – Perisher, NSW, Australia

Our favourite past time is Snow Skiing and our favourite place to ski is Perisher. We could only squeeze in a couple of days of skiing in 2019 but there is no way we weren’t hitting the slopes! Check out where we stay while skiing at Perisher on this blog post from a couple of years ago.

September 2019 – Kokoda Trek, Papua New Guinea

September was a huge one for me… after 12 months of training I took on the challenge of the Kokoda track. A grueling 9 day, 96km trek, I rose to the challenge and completed it! It challenged me, gave me a sense of achievement and I met some awesome like minded people. It was a journey I will never forget! I posted my diary entries on this blog… click here , here and here to find out more!

October 2019 – Bowral, NSW, Australia

Every year in October the Southern Highlands town of Bowral holds a Tulip festival and this year I finally went down for a visit. It was busy but beautiful seeing all the Tulips on mass. Definitely worth a visit.

November 2019 – Dubbo, NSW, Australia

We had the most amazing stay overnight at the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. We stayed at the Billabong camp and was treated to some tours, yummy meals and informative keeper talks as well as two days within the park… oh and we also fed the Giraffes! I wrote a blog post on our visit here.

December 2019 – Umina Beach, NSW, Australia

We finished off our year with a visit to Umina Beach where there is a family friendly holiday park called Ocean Beach Holiday Resort. The kids loved swimming in the pool and waterslide and I loved laying around reading my book! Check out this blog post to find out what this awesome park has to offer.

We had a busy year that’s for sure! Overseas, State and Local trips made up 2019 and made it a great year for us all!

How was your 2019?

What was the highlight?

Safe Travels

What a year. So glad you got to these places in Australia which have now, in many cases, been ravaged by the fires. But as we know things will regenerate.

I do love the area that is close to where we are now too.

Thanks so much for joining in the 2nd Life This Week in 2020 and next week the optional prompt is 3/51 Remember This 20.1.2020. I do hope to see you link up too. Denyse.
