Ocean Beach Holiday Resort 3

I think we just had a weekend at one of the best Holiday Parks on the Central Coast… the NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Resort at Umina Beach!

I was looking for a spot to have an weekend away, that was close to home, offered unpowered campsites, was on the coast and to have a pool… the one and only request for the kids!

As soon as I saw what the NRMA Ocean Beach Resort had to offer I booked ourselves a site and counted down the days till I could get there and relax while the kids swam… and that’s exactly what we did!

The Ocean beach resort offers check in from 11am so we packed up early and got ourselves there so we could make the most of our time. Check in was super easy, they have a great reception that is built to cope with many people checking in at once, so we were quickly processed and soon enough we were setting up camp in a semi secluded spot along the back fence of the park.

The only problem…. what to do first. Should we go to the beach that is a stones throw away? Should we go to the games room? The playground? The two jumping pillows? Play some tennis? Or head just down the road to the skate park? or should we first try out what the kids wanted in this weekend the most…. a swim in one of the two pool / spa areas? Of course it was the pool first! and so while they both put on their swimmers, I grabbed my book ready to relax and chill.

And that’s how we spent our days… swimming , reading, chatting about everything and nothing and enjoying each others company. Yes we checked out the games room, bounced on the jumping pillows, watched a movie on the big screen, woke for a beach sunrise and I beat my kids at a game of tennis (I’m not competitive at all!!!) but we all needed some chill out time so our time at the pool was definitely our favourite!.

What: NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Resort

Where:  Sydney Ave, Umina Beach NSW 2257

How Much: The resort has many accommodation options on offer from unpowered camping to top of the range spa villas. We stayed on an unpowered camping spot which cost from $33 per night.

Need to know: The resort is big and can get quiet busy, it is very close to the beach with the surf club ( and flags) just a little bit away, they have a holiday program for the kids, NRMA members get discounts on accommodation and activities, the resort has a cafe onsite and camp kitchens so you can be self contained, one pool area has a slide while the other is located next to a splash pad for the little ones, there is peddle cars and the place is bike / scooter friendly, there is a huge playground / cafe/ bike and skate track just down the road in walking distance.

So if you need a Holiday resort that is perfect for the whole family, has everything to keep the children entertained (and therefore the parents happy!) get yourself to the NRMA Ocean Beach Resort pronto!!

Have you stay at this holiday resort? or what is your favourite Holiday Park and why?

Safe Travels

We lived in the area for a while and I remember it was always a popular place. The beach, from what I recall, has had some erosion but with all that at the park, then it’s good no matter what.
