I have so much I want to share on here in regards to our trip to Kangaroo Island, but first I want to tell you about the best camp ground on the Island!
After searching online and wiki camps, I came across a place that had great reviews called Discovery Lagoon Caravan and Camping grounds. Everyone online raved about the place so it was definitely on top of my list, but it was when I gave them a call that I knew it was where we were going to stay. Dee was very helpful, took the time to answer my questions and really seemed to care about us. I had a feeling that this was going to be a memorable camping place, and I wasn’t wrong.
Discovery Lagoon Camp grounds are an unpowered campground with all the facilities you will need to have an enjoyable stay. Its has a great camp kitchen with bbqs and burners as well as a fridge and plenty of space to spread on at one of there numerous tables while the bathroom facilities are clean, roomy and accessed through a pincode locked door. The campground boasts the fact that they are eco friendly (a fact that I love!) and this is evident through the lights and hot water being on timers and the use of solar panels and water tanks. The kids loved the playground, a variety of swings and climbing frames where they always felt safe and confident to explore on their own.
But the highlight was the grounds of the camping area its self. The peaceful bush setting, with plenty of room to camp, is on a large property bordering a beautiful Lagoon. It wasn’t completely full of water at the time of our visit but it still was home to a variety of birds including a few Black Swans which were amazing to watch glide on by. Most nights the camping gathered to sit around the Lagoon to watch the sun set and listen as the birds settled down for the night, what a beautiful way to end the day!
With close access to the gorgeous Emu bay and the township of Kinscote, as well as being central to many other beautiful spots on Kangaroo Island, Discovery Lagoon Caravan and Camping grounds is the ideal place to park your van or pitch your tent. Thanks Dee for making this a camping experience to remember!

I’m actually not a fan of camping but it does look very peaceful. I suspect it would be a nice place to go with an extended group of family / friends.
Absolutely! It’s got plenty of space and a great place to hang out with friends!
Is this in Western Australia? Looks like a great place for camping weekends! xx

Kangaroo Island is on our list of place to visit. I don’t think we’ll be camping though, maybe, who knows! This looks like a peaceful spot to stay.
