Last week we celebrated our last Birthday for the year, Jay turned 9, and his wish was to go to Tree tops adventure park <\/a>with a couple of his mates.<\/p>\n

Everyone was excited to try out the four courses which are designed for 3 to 9years olds, trying to get them to eat some of the picnic lunch that I had packed, was an impossible task!\u00a0so after getting a bit into them, I gave up and let them explore around the surrounds, following some of the tracks that are under the obstacle courses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Soon enough our session time came around and the wonderful staff geared up the kids, with their harnesses and helmets. After a security briefing the kids were let loose on the courses, Ivy starting with the easiest while the boys went straight onto the second one.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The courses get more challenging as they progress, presenting the kids with logs to step along, nets to crawl through, balancing beams to cross and best of all zip lines to deliver them back to the beginning! The special tracks that the gear runs along guarantee that the kids are always safe and because the devises can only be hooked onto the track one way they cannot get it wrong.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tree tops challenges the kids, pushing them to help build up their resilience, independence, problem solving skills and also team work! It was so cool to see the kids supporting, cheering and encouraging each other, even if they were complete strangers!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When there were tears and frustrations or the kids on the course just couldn’t move through fear or not being able to negotiate the challenge, the staff at tree tops were quick to step in with some friendly encouragement and ideas or if needed a helping hand down off the course.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I really enjoyed watching the kids complete each course before running the to the start of another, continuing to work on all the courses for the whole 1 and half hours that their session allowed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The kids also loved going to Tree tops! Here’s what they had to say:<\/span><\/p>\n

Jay:<\/strong> ” I likes tree tops because you get to challenge yourself on the courses. I think my friends had a good time too”\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ivy:<\/strong> ” I loved doing the second part (course) because of the balance thing, (the log) and the zip line”\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How much?:<\/strong> $28 for the kids courses (3 to 9) $38 for the harder courses aimed at over 10 to 17years and over 18years is $48. They also offer discounts for families and groups.<\/span><\/p>\n

Need to know:<\/strong> Wear Comfortable clothes and closed in shoes with some grip, Picnic tables are available, Tree tops take sustainability and protecting the environment seriously, gloves are recommended for the harder courses, you are best to book in, either online or by phone to guarantee a time slot because they fill up quickly!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This time next year Jay will be able to go up on the bigger courses! I might have to join him!<\/p>\n
