Lane Cove River Tourist Park: A review 1

Visiting Sydney can become expensive when staying in the city, but I have found a place that is not only close to everything that Sydney has to offer but also is cheaper than staying right in town. Lane Cove River Tourist park not only offers a variety of different accommodation options,it is also located right next door to the Lane Cove National Park, so instead of looking out onto high rise buildings, you can gaze out into the bush and be surrounded by Australian native wildlife.

Upon entering the reception of the Lane Cove River Tourist park you are greeted by friendly National parks and Wildlife staff who are ready to answer any questions you might have to ask. They guided us to our unpowered campsite, which was perfectly positioned right next to a gate to the National Park and close to both the camp kitchen, bbqs and bathroom block. I was surprised to see that the site had a raised covered area perfect for setting up our Kathmandu tent on and gave us a clean spot to step onto in the morning, while being shaded by gum trees.

The Lane Cove River Tourist park offers plenty of space for the kids to safely explore on their scooters or bikes, has a playground, a Tv room and a pool area, which unfortunately for the kids was closed for the the winter (the only thing in the water was the ducks!) , but it did look inviting.. we might have to visit in summer!  The park is huge ( 206 campsites!) offering many different types of Accommodation:  powered camp and caravan sites, unpowered camp sites, walk in camp sites and cabins if you aren’t into camping!

The best thing about the Lane Cove River Tourist park is its close proximity to the Lane Cove National Park. There is a couple of walking access points from the tourist park, tracks that led straight into the park, so you can explore the park on foot and have a bushwalk  a picnic in one of the many bbq areas right near the Lane Cove river.

Need to know: Pre book online to avoid it being booked out, itis close to the city (we drove to Bond Beach in half hour) and close to Public transport including a 900m walk from North Ryde train station, you are surrounded by wild birds that may visit you if you are lucky!! and it is a perfect spot to explore the city of Sydney.
