On the weekend we went to a brand new kids festival called “Kidtopia” in Parramatta Park, Sydney which ran from the 7th to the 9th of October 2016.

I had won tickets to the festival through a competition that The World and Kids ran and being local to my mothers house we were excited to take the opportunity see what this event had to offer.

With loads of experiences to enjoy including classes in drama and cooking, sports activities, live music, funfair, circus school and a silent disco, we decided to check out the program online before hand. The kids decided that what they were most interested in was the fun fair, the sphero exhibit and the twilight movie session of “Zootopia”, so keeping this in mind we didn’t turn up till after lunch, hopefully giving us enough time to check out what else was offer.

Alot of the festival was free after entry, while the rides and workshops did have a fee. Prepaid online entry tickets gave enormous savings compared to buying on the day and unlimited online prepaid rides tickets also offered a small discount.

After alot of deliberation with the kids we decided that none of the workshops were of interest to them and that they were more interested in the carnival games (eg: clowns) than the actual rides themselves (this was not included in unlimited ride pass) so a ride pass wouldn’t be worth it for our family. That was a great decision. When we got there the kids found plenty to entertain them, without being involved in classes or standing in lines at the carnival all afternoon. They spent their money having one go on the dodgem cars and a couple of carnival games each and were more than happy, and it worked out alot better financially.

The kids had a great time and kept thank me for taking them to Kidtopia (Thank you The World and Kids!), so I know they enjoyed themselves! I had a great time as well, its always good when you see your kids enjoying themselves, and while I am very grateful for winning the tickets, if it hadn’t been for that I’m not sure if I could have justified the money spent here, especially if you didn’t prepay your entry, your kids wanted to do a workshop and you bought unlimited ride tickets! Anyway that said, it was a great day to finish off the school holidays!

Safe Travels
